Five years, one room.
Colleen and Lauren meet through their daughters' lacrosse team. Outdoor courts in Charlottesville overflow through the pandemic. A thought takes shape: what if play didn't stop when the weather did?
The search begins for a space large enough to house nine pro-grade courts, a pro shop, a lounge, and event venues — under one roof.
A 33,000 square foot footprint inside Seminole Square is stripped and rebuilt. CushionX sport flooring. 25-foot ceilings. Indirect tournament lighting.
cvilleSMASH opens September 2025 as Charlottesville's first dedicated indoor pickleball facility, and the official indoor training home of UVA Club Pickleball.

cvilleSMASH is the official indoor training facility of the UVA Club Pickleball Team — national champions. The partnership brings collegiate-level energy onto our courts, and gives UVA players a year-round training home.
